Washington DC 20017

Dakshina will be back at Dance Place on July 14-15 performing our signature hybrid work and for the DC premiere of Eternal Seasons, a suite of dances set to Vivaldiā€™s Four Seasons. Our frequent collaborator Chris August will be joining us on stage for bringing to live his selections and specially commissioned poems.

Dakshina will also perform Chakra, our new hybrid work combining Bharata Natyam and Modern Dance in the company’s signature vocabulary. The work explores the cycles of life as told through the lives of Subhadra and Uttara, two powerful women in Indian mythology.

The company has just finished a successful tour of India and Europe, and is looking forward to performing at Dance Place for our home season. BUY TICKETS

Performances will take place on Saturday July 14th and Sunday July 15th. Dancers include Miguel Alcantara, Jamal Ari Black, Valerie Branch, Helen Marie Caruthers, and Julie DiGregorio. Choreography is by Daniel Phoenix Singh.
