Ken Currier
Mr. Currier is the Executive Director of the National Association of State Head Injury Administrators. In this position he coordinates national policy for brain injury services and provides technical assistance to States and Protection and Advocacy Systems to improve services and supports for individuals with traumatic brain injury and their families. He has a Masters of Business Administration in Health Administration from Temple University. Mr. Currier has more than 25 years of health care experience in various sectors of the health care delivery system. He has a commitment to health and social services to those who are served or under served having volunteered in numerous capacities in both the domestic and international sectors. He believes in the arts as a mechanism to connect communities.

Avi Sahi--Perseus
Avi Sahi is a Vice President of Perseus, LLC, a $2.5 billion private equity fund based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Perseus, Mr. Sahi was an Associate in the Technology Investment Banking group at SG Cowen & Co from 2002 to 2006. During this time, Mr. Sahi helped build SG Cowen's Alternative Energy Investment Banking Practice and participated in the origination and execution of seven corporate financing transactions for energy technology companies. Previously, Mr. Sahi was a Vice President with G.E. Capital Corporation and a Business Development Manager with Cisco Systems Capital. In addition, Mr. Sahi has worked in the commercial finance departments of J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, and Quest Capital. Mr. Sahi received a B.S. in Finance from Rutgers University and an M.B.A. from Georgetown University.

Donald Bennett
Donald Bennett holds the M Ed degree from the University at Albany. For 30 years he worked as a senior location and training manager for major corporate food service providers throughout the Northeast. Four years ago Donald moved to Alexandria, Virginia where he works as the Coordinator for a private security company. He is currently working on a 5-year strategic plan to build Dakshina's infrastructure and offerings.

Rochika Chaudhry
Rochika Chaudhry works as a Technical Assistance Manager at Management Sciences for Health and has worked at the World Bank and UNICEF in the past. She comes to Dakshina with a strong love to foster Indian Culture and Art and is particularly interested in creating networks to support the arts. Rochika servers as a liaison to the larger Indian community for Dakshina and is a sought after host for the Artists coming from India for Dakshina's Fall Festival of Indian Arts. Herself a trained professional Bharata Natyam dancer, she is excited to be a part of Dakshina's growth.

Debbie Davidson
Debbie Davidson has been a board member of Dakshina since 2007. She assists with outreach and marketing for Dakshina. Debbie moved to the DC area in 2006 from Cincinnati, where she was the managing director of NonProfit Network and provided evaluation services to start-up nonprofits.

Gihan Fernando
Gihan Fernando joined the Dakshina board after being inspired and moved by a number of the company's performances. A native of Sri Lanka, Gihan grew up all over Africa before moving to the US to attend college. He is an assistant dean at Georgetown University Law Center, and recently served as President of the board of his professional association, NALP (the Association of Legal Career Professionals.) Gihan lives in Washington, DC, a city he has long considered home.

Patrick Foley
Patrick Foley joined the Board of Dakshina in December 2007.  Patrick works as a hotel manager for Baywood Hotels, a rapidly growing hotel management company based in Greenbelt, MD.  He is Vice President of the Hotel & Lodging Association of Virginia, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association.  Patrick also serves as the Chairman of the VHTA Government Relations Committee, championing legislation to promote the hospitality and tourism industry in Virginia.

Inji Islam
Inji Islam recently returned to the Washington area after spending six years in New Delhi, India, where she studied yoga, classical dance (Odissi style), acting and theatre movement with several preeminent teachers -- this study and exposure has given her a deep understanding of Indian arts and philosophy. Prior to that, she worked for a decade in the areas of international development, environment and women's issues with non-profit research and advocacy organizations in New York and Washington. She now continues her training in dance and theatre at the Mayur Dance Academy and the Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory, and is also a certified yoga instructor. She holds a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard University and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.

Esteban Deleon

Esteban Deleon is President & Co-Founder of The DeleonGlaude Group, LLC., a private investment and entertainment business based in Alexandria, VA. In addition, Mr. Deleon is Chairman, CEO, & Founder of Renegade Systems Worldwide, a privately-owned IT Consulting and Support firm. Prior to that, Mr. Deleon was Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice-President for Brite-Maids, Inc., a commercial and residential cleaning service. In that role, Mr. Deleon was able to expand the franchising and bring new measures to the cleaning industry as a standard. Mr. Deleon has more than 10 years of IT experience and leadership experience, leading and consulting organization into financial and capital success. Mr. Deleon received his B.S. in Computer Science, B.A. in American Music Culture, and B.S. in Cultural Linguistics from Georgetown University, his Masters in Computer Science from UC-Berkeley, and his J.D. from Stanford University. He lives in Alexandria, VA. with his partner of 3 years.
